[AMR049] Phase Shifts - House Specials

Hey there, thank you for checking out my new album. I would like to say the common flavor throughout this album is house, but I'll let you be the judge. This work fuses many elements together in a variety of combinations. You will hear layers of house, acid, ambient, downtempo, and trance. Also, you will notice this album has another theme- restaurants/food. Each track explores various delicacies from a lighthearted point of view. [AMR047] dreDDup - Abnormal Waltz

This album was meant to be the soundtrack for the sf/horror movie called "Noir". As for the movie was never really finished, we managed to release it in DIY release (100 copies) and give it to our friends and fans. After years of music making, a lot of people asked us about that old stuff and we decided to release it again. This time we added 6 extra bonus songs from 2002.

This album is very atmospheric in a way that it shows the sickness of mixing weird sounds and echoes of rough drums. It is very apocalyptic and depressive. The sound goes from industrial/darkwave to experimental and new wave with a lot A-LOT of crossover between.

However, even it had a production limits at the time, it sounds really well when we listen to it today. Don't forget that we live in Serbia, a militant country that doesn't give a fuck for the art or the underground scene. I'm sorry to say that we are the only live industrial band in the whole country and we are very, very lonely in our music here. So listen to this LP carefully, at moments it will be boring, at moments it will be sick, at moments it will be catchy, and sometimes it will be amazing. This LP is from our old sound and we very change it since than.

[AMR045] Upheaval - Lucid Dreaming

Upheaval is a side project from Tom of Turmoil.

A lucid dream is a dream in which the person is aware that he or she is dreaming while the dream is in progress. During lucid dreams, it is often possible to exert conscious control over the dream characters and environment, as well as to perform otherwise physically impossible feats.

This album is a series of shorter songs, unlike the works of Turmoil. I've taken a more cinematic approach to creating this music with the hopes of creating a short experimental film in the near future.

[AMR044] Phase Shifts - Cerebral Vortex

Hey there, thank you for checking out my fifth album. When I first set out to accomplish this work, I was originally planning to simply fuse the acid and idm genres and keep it minimal. However as work got underway, I quickly realized this was going to be so much more. I would like to say the common flavor throughout is acid, but I'll let you be the judge. This work fuses many elements together in a variety of combinations. You will hear layers of acid, idm, breaks, ambient, downtempo, and even a little trance. Also, you will notice this album has another theme- the mind. Each track explores various aspects of brain functionality from chemical mechanics to physiological manifestations. I hope you have as much fun enjoying these soundscapes as I had creating them. Thanks again.

His way of producing is the use old analog equipment in the same way as the newest Software in digital producing. The greatest thing for him is to create new soundcollagen and wicked samples for his tracks. As a Dj he played in several european locations and events like love parade and thunderdome. [AMR038] Hello - Compilation 1

I am starting a series of compilation releases.

The reason they are going to be simply called "Compilation #" is because they don't all fit into the same genre. However, they do all follow a similar theme... I'll let you decide what that theme is.

The songs in these compilations will range from feel-good electronica to dark, unnerving atmospheres, to 'dark-hop', to grunge and industrial.

[AMR036] Phase Shifts - Compassion

Compassion…
for you-
for me-
I feel for you;
I understand your pain…
I would do anything-
anything at all,
if only…
My tears for yours;
I would suffer for you,
ease your burden…
Would you do the same for me-
for anyone-
Do you feel?
Could you feel?
If only, if only…

Thanks for coming by. I hope you enjoy this album and the poem. Compassion is the first step to helping others- to realize another's pain and want to alleviate it. To do anything at all that helps -- even to bring about a smile -- is a step in the right direction. I think of this album as being deeply ambient in nature with many elements that are relaxing and uplifting. I think the music captures the mood indicated by each track's title. I hope it makes you reflective and feel better…

[AMR034] LaVey - They

Lavey was birthed by marc flowers in the winter of 1998. this was only a thought, until 2001, when mr. flowers bought a few peices of musical equipment, a mixer, and a computer. and then, "i just started composing these really weird yet spooky instrumentals". he says, reflecting on the beginning. after a few years of practice, marc finally decided to write a record purely consisting of instrumentals. when asked why he didn't start writing lyrically oriented material, his answer was, " i want to make the listeners use their imaginations, create your own motion picture in your mind". after finishing his first full-length album, "Hypocryptical Vol.1: Demon Hellfire Orchestra", he started playing it for people where ever he went. "people just loved what i was doing! i mean, everyone that heard it wanted more! i was quite surprised!" he says.in 2004, after the positive responses and reviews, marc set out to make the follow-up to his first record, "vol.2:empty and alone". which sounded better than the first record by a long shot. and yet again, got very positive feedback! shortly after the beginning of 2007, marc had toyed with the idea of writing a lyrical record. "i had at-least 50 sheets of lyrics that i had written, but didn't think them good enough to actually put too music". and, after a few months of bad recordings, marc emerged with a track called, "they". which got extremely positive reviews right here, on his myspace page. marc is currently at work on his third record, "countless hours", "they" being the first track on the disc. "i hope that people like the new record. i am writing the whole thing on a lap-top computer, and it's going damned well!" marc has also gotten coverage in central florida on a radio show called, "the spooks show". and is in the process of getting some small shows organized around florida after the record is complete. "for what i have planned, these shows are gonna be a smack in the face with a sledgehammer!"

  2. Instrumental Death Pt. 1
  3. Instrumental Death Pt. 2

[AMR033] Rose Red - Childhood Traumas

While thinking back to my childhood I was brought back to a very dark time. I was born in Scranton, PA and spent the first 11 years of my life there. [AMR030] Phase Shifts - A Night At Kabuki Theatre On Acid

OK, let's hop into Sherman and Peabody's Wayback Machine to mid '99. The scene was taking some serious hits as usual, including some unusually bad press coverage in the DC area. I was getting burnt out from a lot of things- people, music, politics, etc. It was also just before I stopped working as an edm dj/producer for 5 years. Normally I'm known for my infinite patience, so you know things had to be pretty bad for me to reach this point.

I had just moved, most of my studio was still disassembled, and I was in a transitional period, easily influenced by anything and everything in my environment. I started a new project and recorded my work. At this point, this recording had no specific intension. I had considered using specific sounds as samples for other production. I had also considered making an album. I set it aside for later.

Later on, I came across my recording and converted it into digital media and set it aside once again. The necessary flow just wasn't hitting me and it felt overwhelming every time I tried to force it. So it was slowly forgotten over time.

Fast forward to present day. Recently I was talking to a friend when I came across this old recording. I listened to it again and the notion hit me to try working on it. After cleaning it up, I felt like the time was right to work on it. What resulted was a 16 track album that was primarily avant-garde and noise with subtle elements of ambient and idm.

Sometimes I like to release an album that tells a story. In this case the story is about a man who goes for a night out on the town as indicated by the album title. Each track details a moment during his excursion.

Thank you for taking time to listen to this album. I hope you will enjoy it. I spent a lot of time trying to make it sound as it should. I am already in the studio again, working on a new album. Come back soon…

I use sounds from electronic synthesis, concrete and acoustic sounds, and just junk noise I make with Audacity by clicking generate>white noise then running that through a number of filters (usually up to 40 different filters). I also like to make "noise remixes", every once and a while.

[AMR024] Cronus - Intervals

This ep is a selection of ideas and techniques I've learned in the past year-its a beginning to a record of steady streams of visions, shapes and colors I see in my head interpreted into sound. It deals with experimental sounds and tones made from scratch, and vocal samples destroyed and arranged into organic textures.Drones, soundscapes, thoughtful melodies and glitchy rythyms are the flavor of choice. Each track on this ep was written with a non traditional arrangement in mind for the reason of letting the sounds play their full part for the people who enjoy sound in its full glory.

Track Listing:

  2. Gourd
  3. Ring
  4. Commun

[AMR023] JON7 - Traitor's Gate

**Be sure to download the "MUST HAVE" text document. It is the storyline of the music. It is as important as the music.**

In a reality much like our own, only different, two particular inventions, the printing press and electricity, were indeed invented, but for some reason, had very little impact. They were introduced to people, and no one cared. Such things were considered the property only of the rich and well-educated. As a result, most of the civilized world still lives in a semi-medieval state.

Traitors' Gate is a rough district of neighborhoods on the outskirts of a major city somewhere in this 21st century medieval world. It is every bit as rough as any neighborhood on the edge of any modernized American city. "Traitors' Gate" is a soundtrack to a journey through this dangerous area, from the perspective of unnamed characters who work in the larger city center area and must make the trek each day to the city and brave the trip back home at night.

JON7 is a friend of ours who did a remake of the Turmoil album Astral Nightmare the result was Traitor's Gate a few months back we did a remake of of the JON7 album Ocean Floor entitled Blue Grotto. Much appreciation to JON7 for all his help and we hope to work with him in the future.

[AMR019] Phase Shifts - Something For Everyone

Born in Ohio and raised in the northern VA area, I always focused on art and music. Each of my family members had very different musical tastes, talents, and I had a lot of exposure to each of their musical collections which, in total, spanned from one end of the musical spectrum to the other. Not only was this influential, but it was also educational. In the 80's, I began to discover what my own musical tastes were and they continued to develop well into the 90's. In the early 90's, I had my first taste of pure electronically driven music and by the time I was in college, I had grasped a full understanding of techno (electronic dance music, or edm) and raves.

Having my eyes opened to this world I knew what it was I had been missing in my life because its presence finally completed me. I was so impressed that I felt the need to do for others what had been done for me. Everyone should feel and experience what I felt. What possibly amazed me most of all was it all happened without drugs or alcohol, substances that the media often mentions in ways that are very damaging to the scene. Substances do not make or break a scene; substance use is a choice for everyone. Not everybody ingests substances to feel wonderful at a party, or anywhere else. My favorite moments would include when people approach me just to make friends or tell me how much they have enjoyed my work. I don’t think I could appreciate that if I was under the influence, and it makes everything worthwhile. I hope you will enjoy my work, in any state of mind.

I started to dj in '87 and more seriously in '94 under the name djsquelch (djsquelch, dj squelch, d.j. squelch). I started producing in '92, under the name phase shifts. I spin and produce all styles of edm including ambient, downtempo, lounge, idm, acid, minimal, trance, house, techno, jungle, breaks, dnb, hardcore, happy hardcore, gabber, industrial, avant-garde, experimental, noise, acid jazz, dub, reggae, turntablism, jazz, disco, rock, & spoken word. My equipment includes keyboards, a mac, a pc, a ton of software, several instruments, and random equipment.

Music is my passion and I will always be involved with it in some way throughout my life. I enjoy both analog and digital mediums and will happily work either one or both in a heartbeat, as this brand of work has always been play to me. My goals include publication, event hosting, artist promotion, and venue ownership. I have played live at various venues and broadcast online. There are very few things I enjoy better than the feeling of generating a positive feeling for people listening to my work and mixes. When I am not asleep, you can find me online, working on music, watching movies, listening to audio books, playing games, cooking, or chilling with his dog, Pogo. I find influences and inspiration in everything I see, hear, and do. I try not to shut myself off from a world of opportunity. I believe in plur (peace, love, unity, respect).

[AMR018] Phase Shifts - The Alien Deviance

The Alien Deviance EP Tale

Systems Check: In this part of The Alien Deviance EP, you are taken inside the craft before navigation. You can hear the engine while everything is turned on and functioning correctly. It sets the tone for our interstellar traveler.

Plasma Signature: This part of The Alien Deviance EP depicts the creativity of the tagger. Much like a plane leaves a jet stream, his craft also leaves a trail which he manipulates as he navigates.

Stealthily Tagged: This part of The Alien Deviance EP depicts the tagger sneaking in with risk to leave his mark and getting out, unnoticed.

Space Graffiti - The Tale: This track is a blend of the first three songs on this EP. It surmises the story in full.

[AMR017] Weimar - Basement Rock

Weimar is musical project runned by the leader Radek Kordasiewicz. The most experimental of his efforts, Weimar is a journey into the improvised and unexpected sounds. Weimar exists since summer 2005. Then the first recording sessions of this music took place in the silence and dark of the room of leader. Improvised, sometimes rapid and sometimes delicate- music conatined various feelings and emotions, new views on what the sound should or could be as well as a portion of humour. Since then the project was on hold with few additional tracks recorded in last sixteen months. This year is seeing a great activity of Weimar. Since late April, on the web site that is now being builded up, Radek will release all of the projects archive recordings as well as start new ones- with a full band. There are plans for few live appereances in Poland scheduled for the summer as well as recording sessions about to take place sometime soon. All improvised, all new, all extraordinary.

[AMR016] DANADAX - DAXSCAPES I

After making the two DANADAX EPs on the Intelligent Machinery Productions netlabel (http://www.intelligentmachinery.com; EPs: "Trips Into Places Unknown" and "Consciousness in Shifts of Decay"), DANADAX became a one member project for about one year. Then, a two-member version of DANADAX was tried again, but not much ever came from it. Eventually, I, Curtis, was forced to realize DANADAX was just going to be consisted of myself. After planning so many different tracks for the first LP (I kept changing my ideas and my mind), I eventually got worn out of creating new ideas for the first album (whenever I got a new idea, I discarded the old idea). This left me with a bunch of various tracks with not one central, tied, connected theme. So, I decided to throw some of these tracks together and call them "DAXSCAPES I" which basically alludes to the many different and varying soundscapes (mostly consisting of noise and dark ambient) made by my DANADAX project. I have made enough of these tracks to fill up several albums, so expect a "DAXSCAPES II" in the future. I started my first idea for an LP of my DANADAX material way back in 2003, and it is 2007 now, so that's 4 years of material sitting on my hard drive. I think it's about time to share some of these tracks. I hope you enjoy. Remember, there will be a "DAXSCAPES II."
